HOME AWAY FROM HOME XVI
The Annual Exhibition of the Alumni Association of Tama Art University NY Club
Chie Ogura Solo Exhibition
September 25 - October 8, 2020
TAMA Art University Alumni Association's NY Club was established in 2003. We currently have a membership of over one hundred, mostly Tristate area residents plus some residents of Japan. Sixteen member artists will participate in this exhibition.
HAFH is an acronym of Home Away From Home. There are two meanings behind this name. The first is to be conscious of our identity. The other is to present creations that break through our own barriers by making our efforts in New York, the center of the art world.
The first HAFH Exhibition was held in 2004 and this is our sixteenth exhibition. HAFH recognized for the consistency of the works by the participating artists in their display of unique expressions and sensibilities.
It has been held in many locations, including galleries in Chelsea and at the Hammond museum in North Salem, New York. The exhibitors have risen to the various challenges of each location. At the Tenri Gallery, where we have been exhibiting since 2012, their large space and high ceiling give exhibitors possibilities of further challenges.
This year, we are pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Chie Ogura, a member of our club. This will be her first solo show, and she will show both the beautiful nature subjects to which she has been drawn over the years using Japanese painting techniques and the abstract works which she has been working on from various influences in New York City. We invite you to see her ambitious exhibition featuring her latest works.
We will also hold a "Small Works Exhibition" that will present art works by not only the members, but Tamabi alumni artists, who live in Tristate area. Please enjoy discovering works by new artists who have not yet shown with HAFH.
